We are PROUDLY showcasing our new line of  hand-painted Thai Silk jackets.  Yes, it’s challenging to add another dimension of shimmer to Thai Silk, but we did it!

In our accessory line we feature the Lotus fiber blanket scarf, paired with handcrafted Hill Tribe Silver to create a sophisticated, yet exotic look.

Other accessories included a small selection of fur hats, golden South Sea pearls, and crocodile handbags.

For our 2018 LookBook we chose River Farm in Alexandria, Virginia.

River Farm, Cashmere & Pearls 2018 LookBook

This farm, formerly owned by President George Washington, is located on 25 acres with a spectacular view of the Potomac River.  The country estate is surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and a naturalistic wildflower meadow.  Anytime of the year this is a lovely place to visit. River Farm is now the headquarters of the American Horticultural Society.

We were fortunate to have Tom Wolff as our photographer.

Tom is very low key, yet a renowned and well respected photographer.  His published work includes Washington Post Magazine, House & Garden, Garden Design, Smithsonian, Audubon, and the New York Times Magazine, among others.  Tom has exhibited his photography at numerous galleries in the Washington DC and Baltimore areas.  His work is currently included in a traveling exhibition by the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum of Natural History.  Tom captured the essence of our collections selecting just the perfect scenery and angle for each style.  Tom continues to teach photography and also does freelance work.  Check out his website at tomwolffphoto.com.

Kenyatta Ali

Jillian Short, for Cashmere and Pearls

Jillian Short

Jillian Short, the former Mrs. DC and currently Mrs. Southern Maryland America, did an outstanding job of proving age is only a number.  Jill grew up on the Pacific Island of Chuuk, is the mother of ten biological children, and the host of “Always a Voice Speaking Out,” a community group focused on stopping the silence associated with child sexual abuse.  Jill is a community organizer, advocate with ‘Stop the Silence’, public speaker, singer, and model.  Although she hasn’t published a book on how to maintain your youth into your 50s, I think she should.  She is beautiful!

Kristin Bowman and Cali Tyler served as MUAs.

Kristin took the lead on hair styling, which included making sure our hats were perfectly set!  Kristin is a graduate of the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology.  She does freelance work with Pretty Glam, GLAMSQUAD, and in support of various fashion photographers.  Kristin travels to support her clients, when requested.  Take a look at Kristin’s portfolio at krstnbowman.wixsite.com/portfolio.
